Missing man facing felonies found at RMC

Curtis Anderson

A man charged with two felonies who was found incompetent to stand trial caught authorities’ attention when he walked away from an assisted living home in Ripon.

He showed up four days later at Ripon Medical Center, with no incidents reported, Ripon Police Chief Dave Lukoski said.

Curtis F. Anderson, 57, was reported missing last week Friday around 6 p.m. by staff at Copperleaf Village of Ripon, located at 1002 Eureka St., which becomes County Road E north of city limits. He turned up Tuesday morning.

“He actually walked into Ripon Medical Center on his own,” Lukoski said.

It’s unclear whether Anderson was on his own over the entire four days.

“I don’t know that specifically, but I presume he was, or perhaps family members were covering for him,” Lukoski said. “We’re not sure of that at this point in time.”

Police said Anderson was last seen walking north on County Road E. Ripon Police posted a statement on Facebook after Anderson was reported missing.
