More charges filed in child porn case

Scott A. Knuuttila

Additional charges of possession of child pornography have been filed against a Brandon man.

Scott A. Knuuttila, 38, originally was charged with one count May 12. Since that time, nine additional counts have been filed against him.

Knuuttila has been held in custody on a $100,000 cash bond since his arrest.

He pleaded not guilty to all counts in May.

According to a criminal complaint, detectives seized Knuuttila’s cell phone and “observed numerous photographs of very young prepubescent children portrayed in the nude.”

Several were “engaging in sexual acts,” it states.

Under Wisconsin law, conviction for possession of child pornography (a felony) carries a mandatory minimum sentence of three years in prison, as well as a $500 surcharge for each image.
