New spin on old building: Alliance warehouse will get new use

Making laundry equipment is what Alliance Laundry Systems does best.

It’s No. 2 skill of late?

Growing in the city of Ripon.

Just as the city’s largest employer gets set to complete construction of its new warehouse in the Ripon business park, Alliance already is announcing its next project: Revamping and expanding its existing warehouse off Stanton Street.

“What we’re proposing is an expansion of 40,000 square feet onto our existing warehouse ...,” said Tony Hron, senior project engineer with Alliance Laundry Systems.

Hron spoke last week Wednesday at the city’s Plan Commission meeting, at which Alliance sought approval of site plans for the construction project.

Plans call for the expansion to be made to the existing 150,000-square-foot warehouse, which is expected to be vacated in May when the new warehouse goes online.

“Pretty much this entire building will be fabrication, with the exception of a paint department,” Hron said of how the existing warehouse space will be used following the project. “We’re moving along very well; we’ve got a project that hopefully will be starting in April if we get the proper approval.”
