Who will be on the April ballot? Riponites now know.

The field of candidates for the spring election — held Tuesday, April 6 — is now set, since the deadline for turning in papers passed Tuesday evening.

Who is in the race?

School Board

One person has entered the race to challenge the incumbents on the Ripon School Board.

David Olson, a resident of Hope Avenue in Ripon, has filed paperwork to run for a spot on the board. Olson is a Ripon School District parent.

This will be Olson’s first time running for School Board.

He will be challenging incumbents David Scott, Steve Meyer and Dale Wszalek. All three incumbents filed to run again last week.

While four are running for office, the three who receive the most votes will be placed on the board.

School Board members are elected to three-year terms.

Mayor and Common Council

No new candidates joined the race in the final seven days Ripon residents could turn in papers.

That means the city will have a new face for three elected posts come April, and a race for two.
