As construction continues to combine Ripon Middle School with Ripon High School, at least one of those schools finds itself needing a principal.

Middle school/Catalyst charter Principal Tom Hoh is leaving, having accepted the position of executive director of secondary education for the Green Bay Area Public School District.

He may not be the last to go, however.

This week, Superintendent Mary Whitrock was asked if any other school administrators were leaving, other than Hoh.

“None that are confirmed at this time,” she said.

But new Ripon High School/Lumen charter Principal Seth Meinel, who just finished his first year with Ripon, indicated his future is uncertain, citing family considerations.

When asked if he would continue as principal into the new school year, Meinel could not say for certain, telling the Commonwealth, “I have no new information at this time.”

Regardless of what happens this fall, Meinel thanked the Ripon community for welcoming him “with open arms,” the Ripon Rotary Club “who made me feel at home,” and the parents, families, and students “for being patient and understanding as I learned about the rich traditions and history of the Ripon Area School District.”
