A Ripon church was burglarized either Tuesday night or early this morning (Wednesday), but no one was hurt and nothing was taken.

Ripon Police were sent to Our Saviour’s UCC, 343 Scott St., for the report of a break-in this morning.

“The officers just got done cleaning up the scene,” Police Chief Dave Lukoski said at about 10 a.m.

Entry was gained through an east window.

According to their investigation, nothing was taken from the church, but the church sustained some physical damage.

Police said two suspects were involved, and are requesting that anyone with information about this incident call the department at 748-2888.

Almost exactly a year ago — late April to early May 2010 — a series of church burglaries occurred around Ripon as well.

“We haven’t seen any [since then] until now,” Lukoski said, noting the department doesn’t have reason to believe last year’s crimes are related to this one. “Not really, other than the same MO [was used], but the passage of time indicates we have something else.”
