Spring growth in Ripon apparently includes its business community.
An existing business aims to expand this year, while another hopes to get started.
Extreme Auto has plans to expand its shop at 503 E. Fond du Lac St., enabling it to handle larger vehicles indoors.
Meanwhile, a man hopes to start retailing plants from new greenhouses on Ripon’s east side under the name GrowSureEase, LLC.
News of both projects came to light at last week Wednesday’s Plan Commission meeting.
The greenhouse project, though, has a few hurdles it needs to cross before becoming reality.
Plan Commission members identified a few concerns, necessitating a second visit to the commission by owner Dennis Meier.
He is seeking a conditional-use permit, which is necessary for building a greenhouse in any zoning district.
Meier, though, is optimistic about the greenhouse business he plans to start at 230 N. Douglas St., located just south of Modern Rentals.
