Police searching for missing college student

Police use a drone to search for the missing student.

Police are searching for a 19-year-old Ripon College student who has been missing for about 16 hours.

Multiple jurisdictions are helping out in the search, which is focused on the trails behind the Ripon College campus.

Ripon Police are asking residents to stay off the trails while the search is underway.

On hand during the search are city of Ripon Police, town of Ripon Police, Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Department and the Ripon Area Fire District.

Together, they have executed a canine search and are using a "drone" for an aerial search of the high grass in the fields.

The student, who has not been identified other than as a 19-year-old male student, has not been seen since Monday at 6 p.m.

It's believed the student is in the college trail area due to the towers with which his cell phone is communicating.

Police have been searching since last night, first in the dark and now with additional resources during the daylight.

Stay with the Commonwealth for more on the developing story.
