Tucked away on the northwest side of Ripon is a paradise of nature and solitude.
It’s nearly 40 acres of natural prairie grasses and wooded areas cradling Silver Creek.
This land parcel has no roads and no houses. It’s pure nature, right on the edge of city limits off Berlin Road.
Earlier this decade, the Green Lake Sanitary District purchased this land with the Green Lake Conservancy Foundation to provide a natural buffer to Silver Creek, which flows westward into Big Green Lake.
Although this parcel is open to the public, it’s not easily accessible because the rugged terrain is thickly carpeted with high prairie grasses.
But now it appears hikers could be given a better way to access the land.
