Marching Band

Seth Kastenschmidt plays the saxophone during halftime of Ripon’s Homecoming game

The Ripon High School (RHS) band department will host a Marching Show Exhibition Monday, Oct. 4 from 9 to 10 a.m. at Ingalls Field.

The exhibition will feature middle and high school marching bands from Waupun and Ripon. During the exhibition, each band will present its marching show that was performed during its school’s Homecoming festivities.

This is the eighth year the East Central Conference has held this event.

“The marching show exhibition is an opportunity for the schools involved to share their marching styles, ideas and music with their peers,” RHS band director Sandra Polcyn said. “Students rarely see what other school marching bands are doing for their halftime performances. The marching show exhibition gives them this opportunity.”

In addition to this year’s marching show exhibition is the mass band performance at the end. All of the bands will join together to play a couple of pep band songs.

Some of the songs the bands will play together are “On Wisconsin,” “YMCA” and “Lion Sleeps Tonight.”

The Marching Show Exhibition is free and open to everyone.
