For the third time this winter, the city of Ripon was hit with moderate to heavy snowfall.

Over almost 24 hours of continuous — but generally light — snowfall, Ripon accumulated 7.7 inches of snow Tuesday. This is according to certified Skywarn spotter Jim Hoth, who records his data on the north side of the city of Ripon.

Interestingly, each of the three major snows Ripon has had this winter season have occurred almost a month apart: Dec. 8-9 (18.3 inches), Jan. 7 (7.1) and Feb. 9 (7.7). All told, by Hoth’s figures, Ripon has had 45.3 inches so far in 2009-10.
