An encounter between Ripon’s mayor and a resident is the subject of an investigation by the Green Lake County Sheriff’s office.

The matter involves an incident between Mayor Aaron Kramer and Ripon resident Gerald Davidson that immediately followed the Jan. 11 Common Council meeting.

Davidson filed the complaint, which the Ripon Police Department forwarded to the Green Lake County Sheriff’s office because it involves a city of Ripon official.

Kramer expressed surprise that what he characterized as “a two-way conversation” is the subject of a police probe.

While the nature of the alleged misdeed remains undisclosed, the investigation centers around the incident that occurred following the meeting.

Kramer approached Davidson in the foyer outside the council chambers.

Neither Davidson nor Kramer were willing to tell the Commonwealth the nature of what transpired, however both confirmed that nothing that occurred between the two men was physical.
