Just 20 months after taking over as CEO of Ripon Medical Center (RMC), Jim Tavary has announced his resignation.

The RMC board of directors accepted his resignation at its Tuesday evening meeting. News of the resignation became public Wednesday evening, when Brim, RMC's management company sent a press release out.

In the release from Brim CEO Phil Mazzuca, he expressed confidence in RMCs future, and explained an interim CEO would begin Monday.

Tavary's last day with RMC will not be until Aug. 27, meaning interim CEO Neil Todhunter will have several weeks to get up to speed.

"Although a change in leadership is never easy, I want to reassure each of you that Brim and the RMC board remains excited about RMC's future and remain committed to RMC's goals and objectives ..." Mazzuca said in the release.
