In the same meeting Monday night, the Ripon School Board:

Cut its 2010-2011 budget by $247,144 by eliminating, among other areas, one unspecified Murray Park Elementary School teacher, a fourth-grade teacher, staff development and more;

Announced the district would be more than $88,000 over budget for proposed maintenance projects for 2010-11;

Discussed $55,000 slated for a planned greenhouse for two charter schools, Quest Elementary School and Crossroad Academies, to be built on the Murray Park campus.

But while district officials were enthusiastic about the greenhouse, some School Board members expressed concern at how the project could impact the district fiscally in the long-term.
