Metomen has outgrown itself.
At the town garage along Highway 44/49, election days and Town Board meetings don’t have space to spare.
“Right now when we meet, we meet in the garage where the trucks park,” Town Chairman Jeff Amend said. “We’ve got a little office, but it’s pretty crowded ... Our voting area is very cramped.”
Thanks to historically low interest rates — and the go-ahead from town voters — that’s about to change.
With a population of about 750, the rural town south of Ripon is planning to add onto its garage and also build a separate storage shed for equipment.
