A crowd estimated at more than 1,000 sport enthusiasts turned out last week Saturday for the first annual Central Wisconsin Boating and Fishing Swap Meet.

Organized by Town Square, the event was held with some 50 vendors occupying 10,000 square feet in the second-floor space of the old Green Lake County Safety Building, and boats, jet skis, inflatables, boat lifts, trailers and other large accessories filling the 60-stall parking lot in back as well as a segment of Water Street between Mill and Gold streets.

Organizers Tracy Swayze and Phil Burkart said they plan to hold the event again next year.
