Traffic stops made in 'Click-it-or-Ticket'

Citizens may have noticed increased police presence on selected pre-planned days within Green Lake County.

Patrols have been run via the National “Click-it-or-Ticket” campaign, also incorporating drug dogs and a local drug interdiction program.

The May 23 afternoon deployment on Highway 23, Highway 49 and County Road A within the town of Brooklyn resulted in the following law enforcement actions:

72 traffic stops

63 citations (56 for seatbelt violations)

19 warnings

1 misdemeanor drug arrest

The June 6 afternoon deployment in Berlin resulted in the following law enforcement actions:

117 traffic stops

104 citations (74 for seatbelt violations)

43 warnings

4 drug arrests (1 felony)

2 warrant arrests

“Click-it-or-Ticket” high-visibility patrols and drug interdictions will continue throughout the summer and into the fall. These programs are paid for primarily through grants.

Assistance has been provided by the Wisconsin State Patrol including a K-9, city of Berlin Police, Waushara County Sheriff’s Office, city of Omro Police K-9 and the Adams County Sheriff’s Department K-9.
