Five sausages — AKA community-minded Ripon-area residents — raced for charity last week Friday at Ripon Pick ’n Save.

Second image from top at right, “Frankie” (Liz Nevitt with the Ripon Rotary Foundation), crosses the finish line well ahead.

Not everyone was hot-dogging-it around the cones, though.

Some, such as “Cinco,” (Tim Lyke for the Community Thrift Store & Food Pantry), third image from top at right, had a little fun in the race — at least until he got stuck in the shopping cart pushed by “Stosh,” aka Andy Lyke (Ripon United Way) the racing Polish.

Other racers helping Pick ’n Save donate $733 to their charities were Rob Webster (Webster Foundation) and Randy Hatlen (Ripon Education Foundation).
