Abby M. (Brueggen) Boivin, age 40, of Lomira, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, WI. Abby was born on August 3, 1981, the daughter of Douglas and Linda (Nigbor) Brueggen. She graduated from Ripon High School, Class of 2000 and then received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education at Middle Tennessee State University. She was a proud Middle School and High School Spanish Teacher in Tennessee and Wisconsin schools for over 10 years. She was united in marriage to Derek Boivin on October 20, 2020 in Juneau, WI.

Abby lived a lot of life in her 40 years, despite her health condition. She took the opportunity to travel abroad on several occasions with both her students and her friends. She enjoyed cooking, watching Brewer games and spending time with family.

Abby is survived by her husband, Derek; parents, Doug and Linda Brueggen of Ripon; 2 sisters: Lindsey Brueggen, and Whitney Brueggen both of Madison; grandmother, Lorraine Brueggen, her beloved pet cat, Neeka; and many other family members and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, LuVerne “Bud” Brueggen, maternal grandparents, Clem and Cecelia Nigbor, special Aunt, Betty Nigbor; and Aunts Lorraine Rhodes (and her husband Jim Rhodes), Dawn Brueggen and Gail Nigbor.

Per her and the family’s wishes, Abby will be cremated with a private service and interment to be held at a later date. A Celebration of Life ceremony for family and friends will also be held at a later date. Divine Passage Funeral Home is proudly serving the family.
