Beverly Irene (Evenson) Schwister passed away at home on Monday, July 14, 2014, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 79. She was born in Valders, Wis., on March 8, 1935, to Elmer and Irene (Rusch) Evenson, the youngest of six girls.
She married Robert Schwister on Oct. 30, 1976, and lived in Wauwatosa until Bob retired in 1985. Together they built their first home in the Green Lake area where fishing was good and then later, another home in Ripon, where the church access was good!
Beverly was an exceptional gardener and founded the Ripon Perennial Garden Club. She belonged to the HCE Homemakers, the Westshore Swingers and the Dorcas Circle at church for many years. She was a very active member of Grace Lutheran Church and served as the funeral committee chair for 12 years. Beverly and Bob enjoyed making wonderful Christmas presents for their children. They also loved to square dance for many years, with Beverly making matching square dance outfits for herself and Bob.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Schwister of Hart Park Square in Wauwatosa; faithful companion Missy; adoring daughters Kathryn (Ed) Wollin of Johnson Creek, Judy Hepp of Lake Mills, and son Jeffrey Marken of Iron Ridge; dear stepdaughters Diana (Glen) Barkow, Linda (Jerry) Wunderlich, both from Wauwatosa and Mary (Noel) Crowder, of Brookfield; grandchildren Erich (Mia) Wollin, Heidi (Chris) Wendorf, Kyle (Erika) Wollin, Jennifer (Scott) Doll, Jacob (Olivia) Hepp, Jillian Hepp, Jessica Marken, Evan Barkow, Quinn Barkow, Rob (Alyssa) Wunderlich, Caroline (Anthony) Morton, Lauren Wunderlich, Nick Komlodi, Joe Komlodi , Nathan Komlodi ; great grandchildren Taylor, Emily, and Tyler Wollin, Samantha Spiegelhoff, Tanner and Brookelyn Wendorf, Harper Wollin, Mackenzie Marken, Kaden Doll, Kaeli Doll, Ariana Wunderlich. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Rosemary (Bunk) Werner of California; many other nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters and brother-in-laws, Inez (Les) Matejovetz, Violet (Bud) Burns, Clare (Wally) Kinzel, Marian (Hubert) Haupt and Salome (Robert) Haupt; niece Susan (Burns) Hendrick; and nephew, Mark Haupt.
A memorial service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 430 Griswold St., Ripon, on Wednesday, Aug. 6. Visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Service at 11:00 with a luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
