Bruce Gebhardt, age 79, passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at his home in Ripon. Bruce was born Jan. 19, 1934 in Milwaukee, Wis. and was the second of two children born to Russell and Winifred Gebhardt. Bruce attended Elementary School in Milwaukee, Wis. and later moved to Ripon, where he attended high school. After graduating, Bruce enlisted in the Air Force and served in the Korean War. After returning from the service Bruce attended Ripon College and received his bachelor’s degree in math and physics education. Later he attended University of Wisconsin-Madison where he earned a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction. Bruce taught in Central City, Colo., at Green Lake High School, at University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and UW-Madison, and L.P. Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac until his retirement in 1992.

Bruce is survived by his wife Sharon; half-sister Sharon; son’s Dean and Jim; daughter-in-law, Deborah; nephews, Mark, Rick, Luke, Matt and Chris Kittell, Mark and Troy Johnson, Cameron and Barton Toms; and niece, Terrie Heideman. Bruce is preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Russ Kittell; and sister, Kay Kittell.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, Nov. 1, at Fox Cities Funeral & Cremation Services, 3026 Jackson St., Oshkosh, Wis. from 5 to 7 p.m.

Any memorials will be donated to Alzheimer’s research.
