Darrell G. Doers, 73, of 819 W. Spruce St., Chippewa Falls, passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, at the Reflections Unit of Wissota Health with his wife at his side under the care of Northwest Wisconsin Hospice.

Darrell was born on Jan. 1, 1937 in Ladysmith, Wis. to Jesse J. and Jeanette (Rietz) Doers. They moved to a farm near Cadott in 1946. He attended school there, graduating from Cadott High School in 1954. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955-1957. Darrell married Sharon L. Grohn on Nov. 29, 1958. He worked as a plumber in Green Lake, Cadott, Boyd and Ripon. Darrell also served on the Ripon Police Department for 10 years, first as a patrolman and then Captain. He attended the FBI Academy in Quantico, Vir. in 1978. In 1981, Darrell purchased a plumbing shop in Cadott where he worked until retiring in 1992 because of poor health. Darrell was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Jesse (Lise) Doers of Knoxville, Tenn. and Jean Bittorie and Sherry (Dan) Sullivan, both of Chippewa Falls; grandchildren, Casandra, Christina, Catherine, Matthew, Lindsey, Lucas, Shane and Hailey; great-grandchildren, Natasha, Alexa, Ryder and Alyssa; and a brother, David (Judy) Doers of Eau Claire. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; and a brother, Tommy.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 1300 Mansfield St., Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Paul Oppedahl officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, town of Edson. Family and friends may call from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service Saturday at the Church.
