Donald “Ampy” James Ammeter, age 84, of Crivitz, WI, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Birch Hill Health Services in Shawano, WI.

Donald was born December 22, 1936 in Ripon, WI, the son of John and Evelyn (Cleland) Ammeter. He married Delores Wiegert in Ripon in 1959 and after her passing in 1999, Donald married Judy VanderMeulen in Green Bay, WI in 2005. Donald worked for over 50 years at the Marcus Theater in Ripon and for 35 years as a mechanic at Baird GM. He was also a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, an active member of the Auxiliary Police and a diehard Packer’s fan.

Survivors include his son, Steve (Tammy) Ammeter; daughter, Kim (Mark) Ryan; grandchildren, Josh Ammeter, Stephanie Ammeter, Tamrah Ellenbecker, and Danielle and Samantha Ryan; step-children, Vicki (Cindy Spencer) O’Neil, Keith VanderMeulen, Tessie Schimmel, Cory Schart, Lori Jurecki, Sandy Kadrlik, Mary Kozicki, Ted Denissen, Darlene Wauters, Michael VanderMeulen, Missy Hilliker and David Smet; and many extended family members and grandchildren of Judy’s family. Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Ammeter in 1999; wife, Judy Ammeter in 2019; brothers, John and Fritz; and sister, Martha Page.

A visitation for Donald will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.

A funeral service for Donald will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, with Rev. Dr. Kevin P. Mundell officiating. You may view a livestream of Donald’s funeral service at 1:00 pm at www.butzinmarchant.com. If you are unable to view the livestream, the complete video will be posted here after the service has concluded. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, City of Ripon, WI. A memorial is being established in his name.
