Ronald William Hielke

Ronald William Hielke, age 73, of Fond du Lac, Wis., formerly of Ripon, passed away on Oct. 25, 2012, at home with his family by his side.

Ron was born April 22, 1939, in Markesan, Wis, the son of William and Margaret (Voeltner) Hielke. He graduated from Ripon High School and went to serve his country in the United States Army. On July 11, 1959 he married Carole Ann Dornbrook at Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon. Ron farmed for many years and then he owned his own business in petroleum sales. He was a charter member of the Pickett Lions Club, holding the very first meeting in his home. He was a member of the church council at both Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Ripon, and Grace Lutheran Church in Pickett.

Survivors include his wife Carole Ann of Fond du lac, daughter, Christine (Tom) Schermerhorn and grandchildren, Josh (Becky) Schermerhorn and great-granddaughter, Penny Schermerhorn; granddaughters, Maggie and Hannah Schermerhorn; son, Kenneth (Kari) Hielke, and grandchildren, Curt and Jenni Hielke; brother David (Joan) Hielke, sister Donna (Jim) Meacham, brothers-in-law, Cliff Dornbrook and Robert (Lois) Dornbrook, sister-in-law, Joyce Dornbrook. Ron is further survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Margaret, in laws, Arthur and Mabel Dornbrook, and two brothers-in-law, Edward and Michael Dornbrook.

Visitation for Ronald Hielke will be held Sunday, Oct. 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Monday Oct. 29, from 10 to11 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 606 Forest Ave., Fond du Lac, WI, 54935.

Memorial Service for Ronald Hielke will be held on Monday, Oct. 29, at 11:00 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. Pastor James Borgwardt will officiate. A private family inurnment will follow at Liberty Prairie Cemetery in Pickett. Memorials may be directed to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 606 Forest Ave., Fond du Lac, WI 54935 or to Winnebago Lutheran Academy, 475 East Merrill Ave., Fond du Lac, WI 54935.
