Christians believe in a Christ who said “No one comes to the Father except by me”. Christians also see God’s love shown through people who don’t believe Jesus Christ is God. So we wonder, can people of other religions be connected to God? What if I have to work with one? What if I fall in love with one? I’d better decide. Christians come to different conclusions: 1. Anyone who does not accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior is going to hell. This includes people of other religions. Therefore, we should tell them of the saving power of Jesus Christ, but not associate with them if they do not accept it. 2. Although some have mistakenly sought the wrong way to God in other religions, we can love them as God’s children, witness when we get the chance, be friends and cooperate on the issues where we agree, such as honesty, compassion, and charity. 3. The Bible means that Jesus is the best, most complete way to God, and we Christians have found it. We should tell others of our faith in Christ. But it may be that some have found helpful access to God in other religions. We can be open to ways God is revealed in other religions in case we have missed something good God has for us in our limited understanding. 4. All religions have provided ways to God. One way may be good for one person, another way may be good for another person. The most important thing for us is to be honest in our search. Whichever belief we choose, we remember God can save whomever God pleases, whether it is the way we have figured out or not. God is shown in Jesus Christ, but is still beyond us and our understanding. God is God, not us.
