When the dust cleared at the sectional track & field meet last week Thursday, three Tiger athletes were left standing to book their trip to the state meet in La Crosse.
Joe Ott qualified for state in the 110-meter hurdles, Leandre Some in the triple jump and Jared Langenhorst in the 100- and 200-meter run.
Ott led the way, winning the 110 hurdle event with a time of 15.15 seconds.
While the 300 hurdles is also an event Ott has excelled in this season, coach Jayson Duffy made the decision to limit him to one event at sectionals due to soreness in his foot.
“Joe had some soreness in his foot, so I pulled him from the 300 hurdles,” Duffy said. “We wanted to make sure he was ready for La Crosse in the better of his two events.”
Langenhorst’s qualification in the 100 and 200 was unexpected for the coach.
