4-PEAT! RHS tennis wins sub-sectionals again (and again, and again ...)

Competing in sectional play today (Wednesday) in Whitewater are, from left, Alyssa Scoville, Caroline Brumley, Laura Lyke, Jamie Gundlach, Emily Goyette, Annie Docter, Kaitlyn Scoville and Rachel Peppler.

Call it a dynasty.

For the fourth year in a row, the Ripon High School girls tennis team has won its sub-sectional meet.

With one exception, Ripon swept every match it played Monday at the nine-team sub-sectional tournament at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Eight Ripon players qualified to compete in the sectional tournament today (Wednesday) at the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater.

Among those are: No. 1 singles Annie Docter; No. 2 singles Laura Lyke; No. 3 singles Caroline Brumley; No. 4 singles Rachel Peppler; No. 1 doubles Jamie Gundlach and Alyssa Scoville; and No. 2 doubles Emily Goyette and Kaitlyn Scoville.

No. 3 doubles Emily Castro and Shannon Kannenberg did not qualify. They defeated Sparta 6-0, 2-6, 6-3, but then lost to Lodi 3-6, 0-6.

The other six events won all of their matches.
