Almost there...

Lily Jorgensen goes strong to the hoop for the Tigers.

So close — again.

The Tiger girls’ basketball team came within one or two plays of picking up a win Tuesday night, but it wasn’t to be as it fell 40-35 to Xavier in Ripon.

The loss dropped Ripon to 1-5 in conference while Xavier improved to 4-3.

Close games are becoming a pattern for the Tigers. Unfortunately, they are coming up on the wrong end time after time.

Ripon led 18-14 at the half and appeared to have momentum, but a rough third quarter hurt the team’s chances for a win.
