The Ripon College women’s basketball program hosted its second-annual girls-only basketball camp last week Wednesday to Friday in the Wyman Gymnasium.
Eighty-one girls in grades 3 to 8 participated in the camp, which is an increase from the 58 it had last year.
The camp provided offensive and defensive fundamental skill work at both guard and post positions, contests and collegiate-coaching instruction.
It was led by Red Hawk women’s head basketball coach Lauren Johnson. She was assisted by assistant coach Amanda Guay; her sister, Megan Johnson; and several Ripon College players.
Among the players helping out were Ripon natives Chelsea Moldenhauer and Maddie Koster, as well as Emma McDonald, Breanna Laper, Mikayla Hartman, Megan Jensen, Eva Schaible, Nicole Herkert and Liz Abitz.
