The Ripon High School baseball team got off to a fast start against the Fond du Lac Club team last week Thursday at home as it scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning.

It all went downhill from there.

Fond du Lac, which is a much larger school than Ripon and has been playing games since June as part of a club league, tallied the final eight runs to win the contest 8-3.

The Tigers began the game with four-straight singles and had six of their first seven batters reach via a base knock. They did squander a run as they had a runner picked off third base with the bases loaded and no outs. Max Huseboe later singled to drive in one run and Julius Zrinsky followed a strikeout with a two-run single to give his team a 3-0 lead.

Fond du Lac wasted no time beginning to chip away at the deficit as it scored a run in the second on a double and two singles, and added another in the third with the help of a double, walk and a pair of hit batters.

It then took the lead in the fourth with a pair of runs and added two more runs in both the fifth and seventh innings for the 8-3 victory.
