A late goal spoiled a good outing for the Ripon High School soccer team Tuesday night.
The Tigers fell to Waupaca 3-2 on the road.
Ripon held a lead through the first half as two Kevin Hernandez goals gave the Tigers a 2-0 lead at the break.
“We started out strong and controlled their outside traps,” said coach Don Bogdanske.
Unfortunately, Ripon was not able to keep things going in the second half as Waupaca netted two goals to tie things up.
Giving up the lead seemed to deflate the Ripon players, according to the coach.
“Players suddenly looked defeated and our play slacked off,” Bogdanske said. “This led to some poor passing and shot decisions and we gave up the ball too quickly.”
