Legion winning streak hits 4 with shutout of Waupun

Teammates surround Jess Ehrenberg after a first inning home run at Barlow Park.

Ripon used an offensive punch to take an early lead and never looked back as it took down Waupun 3-0 Tuesday.

Jess Ehrenberg sent a two-run home run over the center-field fence in the first inning and Curtis Morgan drove in Matt Reilly in the second inning for the final run of the game.

From there, Ripon hung on against a good opponent in Waupun, thanks to a dominating performance by pitcher Jordan Jess.

The win was Ripon’s fourth consecutive and moved them up to 4-2 and into first place in the division.

Jess went all seven innings, giving up only two hits while walking three, and striking out 10 batters.

A college scout was on hand to see Jess pitch, but according to assistant coach Howard Hansen, it didn’t affect his game.
