The Tiger girls’ soccer team saw their season shutout streak end exactly 51 seconds into their conference opener at Fox Valley Lutheran (FVL) Tuesday.

An FVL player smacked the ball high into the air towards goal from 40 yards away and goalkeeper Brittany Lewis could not stop it as it drifted just under the crossbar into the upper corner of the goal.

This goal proved to be the only score in Ripon’s 1-0 loss.

The Tigers started slowly, and it was clear that their week off had taken its toll. Still, they defended stubbornly and were able to generate some attack.

Breann Meyer found space to penetrate on the left flank and served several balls into the box. Unfortunately her teammates were unable to deal well enough with them to get good chances to score.
