The sounds of basketballs bouncing could once again be heard ringing throughout the Ripon High School gymnasium Monday as the Tiger girls’ basketball team began practice for the upcoming season.

Dribbling was a major focus during the first day of practice, which was led by new head coach Tom McNeill. The Tigers will have a little more than one week to hone their skills before opening the season Tuesday, Nov. 15 at home with a non-conference game against Waupaca.

The final two Ripon High School winter sports — boys’ basketball and wrestling — will get underway Monday, Nov. 14.

For a recap of the game and a season preview, see next week’s edition of the Commonwealth.
