The Ripon High School football team used the first of five contact days it is allowed for the summer Monday evening.
After getting fit for helmets and having a team meeting, it practiced for three hours on Ingalls Field. Areas of focus included working on the offense, fundamentals and footwork.
While Monday was the first day players were able to receive instruction from the Ripon coaches, it wasn’t the first learning opportunity for them so far this summer.
Several players have taken part the last couple Wednesdays in a passing league in Neenah, Wis.
The second contact day is scheduled for Monday, July 9.
