Early season success has continued into the conference schedule for the Red Hawk women’s softball team.

Ripon went 4-1 at the Crossover tournament over the weekend, with a tight 6-5 loss to Monmouth being its only blemish.

Last week Saturday, the Red Hawks took down Grinnell, Knox and Illinois College in consecutive games.

In the opener against Grinnell, Ripon scored in every inning except the second as it rolled to a 9-1 victory.

Stephanie Rieuwpassa got the win for the Red Hawks, pitching all six innings while only giving up two hits and striking out 13 batters. She was also a perfect 3 for 3 at the plate to help her cause.

“It was a great way to start the [conference] season,” coach Jen Mueller said. “We got our running game going early and had 10 stolen bases.”
