2017 Ripon High School graduate Ben Vander Plas scored a team-high 17 points to lead the No. 13-ranked Ohio Bobcats to a 62-58 win over defending national champion and No. 4-ranked Virginia tonight (Saturday) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Vander Plas scored 10-straights points for Ohio to turn a 39-40 deficit into a 49-42 lead that the Bobcats didn't relinquish.

Ohio will play No. 5-ranked Creighton Monday. Tip off is set for 5:10 p.m. and TNT will have coverage.
