Red Hawk men ride a winning streak into the break

Scott Gillespie scores his 1,000th career point as a Red Hawk.

The Red Hawk men will take a four-game winning streak into the holiday break thanks to a win over Grinnell College last week Saturday.

Ripon handily defeated their conference foe 105-84 in front of Grinnell’s home crowd.

The game wasn’t a runaway from the beginning, though, as the teams traded the lead several times in the first 10 minutes.

Ripon coach Bob Gillespie said his team had trouble with the tempo of the game at the beginning, which enabled Grinnell to stay close.

After the team adjusted, it sprinted away as Ripon used a 21-8 run to take a 13-point halftime lead.
