The Tiger volleyball team started out the Clintonville Invite last week Saturday with a win over Marian.

But from there, things went downhill for the team.

Eight schools were invited to the event, and each school plays each other in two games up to 25. At the end of the tournament, the team with the best record wins.

Ripon took down Marian by scores of 25-20 and 25-11 to kick things off on the right foot.

“We took care of business right away, controlling two games from start to finish,” coach Tracy Landerman said. “After that, we struggled quite a bit.”

Following their initial two wins, the Tigers were only able to score two more victories in the entire tournament out of a total of 12 games.

Ripon split games with Valders, 11-25 and 25-23; and Clintonville, 25-15 and 19-25. They lost both games to Abbotsford, Shawano, Owen-Withe and Gladstone.
