Playing its second game in as many days and third in four days, the Ripon High School Tiger girls' basketball team couldn't keep up with the Winneconne Wolves as it fell 61-46 at home.
Ripon (2-6 conference, 6-7 overall) started off the game strong as it scored the first five points and played good defense to led 7-4 six and a half minutes into the game. The Wolves (5-5 conference, 9-7 overall), however, finished the first half on a 36-12 run to take a 40-19 lead into halftime.
Winneconne then stretched that advantage to as many as 25 points in the second half, which included 61-36 with a little more than four minutes left. The Tigers did finish the game on a 10-0 run to make the score appear closer than it was.
Karsyn Bauman led Ripon with seven points, while Celina Lopez and Ally Bradley added six apiece. Cassidy Mader, Maleigha Kovalaske and Lucy Beuthin chipped in five points each.
The Tigers will try to get back on the winning track and even their record at 7-7 overall Monday when they travel to Berlin for the first of another set of back-to-back games. They will travel to Westfield for a non-conference contest a day later.
Monday's game is set to begin at 7:15 p.m., while Tuesday's contest is slated to tip off at 7 p.m.
