The Tigers opened their season on the road Tuesday at North Fond du Lac with a 0-0 tie.

Two years ago the two teams split two close games, while last year North Fond du Lac won 3-2, so it was always likely that the game would be tight, particularly since both schools were playing the same players as last year.

Although both teams clearly showed that they had only practiced for one week, the action was end to end, and the game was very competitive.

The Orioles created better chances on the whole, but the Tigers were able to deal with everything and answered the question of whether they could defend with a firm yes. Brittany Lewis played a strong game in goal, cleanly catching high balls, getting down to take the ball off an attacker’s foot and coming out of her box to clear balls that had gotten in behind the defense.
