Anything can happen when it comes to the WIAA tournament.

The Tiger girls’ basketball team now is living proof of that.

In one of the biggest upsets of the first round of the regional girls’ basketball tournament, No. 6-seeded Ripon knocked off No. 3-seeded Kewaskum 50-43 on the road Tuesday night. It was only the Tigers’ fourth win of the season and sent them on to the second round Thursday night at Kettle Moraine Lutheran.

“It was an upset,” coach Bill Peters said. “I’m not sure how it happened — we haven’t been playing complete games all season — and by no means did we play a complete game, but we got it done.”
