A furious second-half comeback fell just short for the Tiger girls’ basketball team last week Friday.

Ripon lost at Clintonville 59-54 to head into the winter break with a record of 1-2 in the Eastern Valley Conference.

The Tigers were not able to overcome the first half that found them down 10 points at the break at 34-24.

“We didn’t play very well in the first half,” coach Bill Peters said. “We had some good looks, but missed some wide open shots.”

After the coach fired the team up at halftime, the girls came out strong in the second half, but Peters said it is tough to overcome a large deficit.
