Tiger girls' soccer picks up second consecutive win

Liz Fischer moves the ball upfield for Ripon.

Savannah Skamra got her second hat trick in two games on Tuesday as the Tigers beat Oshkosh Valley Christian in a non-conference game.

Ripon opened the game with their best possession play of the young season, but they couldn’t figure out how to penetrate the Warrior defense. In the 20th minute, however, Molly Krause managed to play a ball into the space behind the defense for Skamra to run onto, and she converted the breakaway opportunity.

Seven minutes later Skamra controlled the ball near midfield and outran the defenders for a second breakaway goal.

Although the Warriors were able to get into the Ripon defending third on several occasions, they created no dangerous scoring chances as the Tiger back four supported by goalkeepers Taylor Lemiesz in the first half and Amara Stammen in the second half worked well together to smother any attacks.
