It came down to running what coach Chris Gatzke said was the Tiger boys’ cross country team’s best race of the year.
Ripon’s boys excelled, and the squad qualified for the state meet for the fourth-consecutive year by finishing second at last week Saturday’s sectional meet.
In doing so, the Tigers beat several teams that had bested them earlier in the season. They also finished only seven points behind Kiel, a team that beat them by more than 100 points previously.
