Tiger track team scores well in Kewaskum as it prepares for Tom Callen Invite

Teresa Kasper runs the 3,200 for the Tigers.

In consecutive meets in Winneconne — held Tuesday and last week Thursday — Ripon High School track coach Jayson Duffy rested his varsity athletes for the most part.

A few varsity throwers and jumpers did compete, but were using the meet for a rehearsal. The Winneconne track team is going through a tough season, and Duffy wanted to save the team’s legs for more competitive meets.

One of those meets was held last week Friday at Kewaskum.

Ripon went into the meet with the intention of presenting the best varsity performance for the meet, according to Duffy.

And the results showed it.

The Ripon boys took first place in the 10-team meet, while the girls finished fifth.
