How can the youth in the community grow to become competent, capable, caring leaders?
Through acts of service as members of the Builders Club.
Builders Club is a student-led community service organization open to students in grades 5 to 8, which is sponsored in this area by Ripon Noon Kiwanis. It is the largest service organization for middle school and junior high students, with more than 45,000 members worldwide.
Membership is free, with the focus being learning servant-leadership through the planning of community service projects.
Ripon Builders Club members have made tie-blankets for assisted-living residents, fundraised for UNICEF and organized school supply and shoe drives.
The Ripon Builders Club will hold its first meeting of 2022 today (Tuesday) from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Jorgenson Room of the Ripon Public Library.
The Builders Club will meet one to two times a month to plan service projects and activities to benefit our community. During the first meeting it reviewed club leadership and brainstorm projects and goals for the summer.
The objectives of Builders Club are:
To provide opportunities for working together in service to school and community
To develop leadership potential
To foster development of a strong moral character
To encourage loyalty to school, community, and nation
